Supporting children and
young people with disabilities

£1 million

has been pledged to

Gympanzees

towards the creation of the UK’s first, fully accessible and inclusive, exercise and play facility for children and young people aged 0 - 25 which will be based at Aust.​​​

Supporting a safe and aspirational destination for young people in South Bristol

£100K

has been pledged towards the running costs of the new

Youth Zone

in Hartcliffe scheduled to open in 2025. It will be open when schools are closed with over 20 activities to try each session and staffed by skilled youth workers.

Helping vulnerable young people lead independent lives

has been pledged to

1625 Independent People towards the refurbishment of Kingsley Hall to become a vibrant, welcoming centre providing affordable accommodation and support to develop essential skills, build healthy relationships and pave their way to education and employment.

Inspiring young people to realise their full potential

Empire Fighting Chance

and the expansion of the Mill to create a global centre of excellence and establish a new office of violence prevention for inner city Bristol.​​​

Bringing a heritage asset back into community use

Jacobs Wells Baths

and bring them back into community use as a thriving civic arts and heritage hub.​​​​​

Improving the physical and mental  health of a local community

has been paid towards the installation of an air handling unit at

Jubilee Pool

in Knowle to help reduce energy costs and improve the service provision for the local community.​​​​

Other highlights

Improving outcomes for disadvantaged people

£65,000 awarded to organisations providing support to asylum seekers and refugees

Funding granted to 9 organisations across the City providing advice and support to local people facing financial hardship.


£56,000 awarded to charities providing enrichment, equipment and skills for independent living for children with disabilities

Promoting wellbeing in local communities 

Funding provided towards parties for 12,300 older people from over 100 clubs and 1,400 theatre tickets provided for free 

£123,000 provided towards the running costs of community centres, city farms and other community spaces

Awards made to 11 community venues to improve accessibility and upgrade facilities including kitchens  and other infrastructure

Improving resilience for vulnerable people

£164,000 awarded to organisations supporting vulnerable adults including those involved in sex work, recovering from addiction and homelessness

Charities that support ex-offenders back into the community and help  prevent reoffending have been awarded £44,000 

£110,000 awarded to charities working with vulnerable young people, helping to improve their life chances

Providing support to those suffering life limiting health conditions

£56,000 awarded to charities supporting families of children with acute illness

Organisations providing support services for people with long term health conditions have been awarded £58,000

£66,000 granted to support palliative care and bereavement services

Enhancing educational experiences and attainment

6 primary schools given funding for new or improved outdoor play areas and equipment and support provided to 9 schools to enable Year 6 pupils to attend residential camps 


£138,000 awarded directly to secondary schools and other educational providers to provide enrichment activities and initiatives to improve attainment for pupils

Supporting young people to achieve their potential

£25,000 awarded to organisations providing educational mentoring, other support and respite breaks for young carers

£35,000 has been given to youth clubs and other organisations providing activities and support outside of school in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Bristol

Organisations providing support to help young people into employment or further education through mentoring, work experience and developing employment skills have been awarded £44,000
